Work with Action Security
In this section you can read about setting up an Action Security.
To create a new Action Security with the setup wizard
1. In the top right corner, choose the Search for Page or Report icon, enter Compliance Field Security Setup Wizard and choose the related link.
2. If you have not yet configured Compliance Field Security, follow Setup Field Security.
3. In the Compliance Field Security Setup window, choose the option Action Security and click Next.
4. In the Action Security window, fill the fields as necessary.
- Enter a page ID for which you want to setup an action security in the Page ID field. You can also choose the AssistEdit button to select a page from the available pages.
- Choose the AssistEdit button in the Action Name field and select the action you want to secure.
5. In order to assign an action security to a user, you have to assign permission sets to the action security. If a user is linked to a permission set that is linked to the action security this means that the user cannot execute the action. Click the button Assign Permission Sets.
6. In the Permission Set per Action Security window, click New and select one or more permissions sets with the AssistEdit button in the field Permission Set. When you are finished click OK to return to the Compliance Field Security Setup window.
7. Click Next and then Finish to finish the action security. If you get an error message stating “You did not completely setup this security.” check if you have correct values in the fields Page ID and Action Name and that you have assigned at least one permission set.
8. If the user for which you have setup an action security logs out of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and relogins, the action security is activated.
To manually create a new Action Security
1. In the top right corner, choose the Search for Page or Report icon, enter Action Security List and choose the related link.
2. In the Action Security List window, find the page and action for which you want to create an action security.
3. In order to assign an action security to a user, you have to assign permission sets to the action security. If a user is linked to a permission set that is linked to the action security this means that the user can not execute the action. Select the correct line and click Assigned Permission Sets.
4. In the Permission Set per Action Security window, click New and select one or more permissions sets with the AssistEdit button in the field Permission Set. When you are finished click OK to return to the Action Security List window.
5. If the user for which you have setup an action security logs out of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and relogins, the action security is activated.
Note
You cannot delete, rename or change the description of Action Securities as they are delivered with Compliance Field Security. If you have suggestions for new Action Securities please let us know.
